Endearing music legend Bertie Higgins has a second career as a filmmaker. He recently wrote, produced and acted in Poker Run, a biker/horror film directed by his son, Julian Higgins.
Described as a cross between Easy Rider and Saw, the film tells the frightening story of a motorcycle trip gone awry when yuppie riders meet up with a gang of psychos.
Bertie worked with his son on his first film, The Wrath, as well.
Poker Run debuted in Pasadena's 2009 Action on Film International Festival, garnering five nominations, and will be seen on Showtime in December. |
